About me

I’m a Scottish picture book writer and illustrator. I love all things finned, furred, feathered and fantastical.  I started digitally doodling during my lunch breaks at work and haven’t stopped yet.  I have a First in English Literature (Edinburgh University) and a Masters in Photojournalism.

I have worked as a freelance journalist and photographer (which took me on a few exciting trips like witnessing the great European Crane migration over the Hungarian Steppe, humpbacked whale spotting in Iceland and the great gannetries of Shetland,) an English teacher, an organist and am currently working as a product photographer and graphic designer.  I like using odd things in my work, like rust, exhaust pipes, tension regulators and radiator coolers.

I am represented by Essie White of Storm Literary Agency.

My first book ‘Numenia and the Hurricane’ is coming out with Page Street Kids, 21st January 2020.
My first book as an illustrator ‘Hello, Little One,’ written by Zeena M. Pliska, Page Street Kids, appears May 2020.
